How do I book a therapy session online?
Our therapist directory streamlines the booking process by making it easy for you to schedule an appointment directly from each therapist's Orchid profile. To book a session, find the therapist you want to see, select a date/time from their listed availability, and follow the steps to confirm your booking within seconds.
Can I schedule an immediate therapy session?
Sometimes it’s possible to schedule same-day appointments, but it’s dependent on each therapist's availability. To see a therapist's next available time slot, simply search for therapists in your area and check the schedules listed on their profiles.
How do I find a therapist available outside of regular working hours?
Many therapists on Orchid offer sessions after 5 PM or even during early morning hours. Search for therapists in your area to check their availability.
How can I find weekend therapists?
All of Orchid’s search results show therapists’ availability, including those who are open for appointments on weekends. Select View all availability on a therapist's profile to find out if they’re available on any upcoming weekends.
Is online therapy covered by insurance?
While many insurance providers cover online therapy sessions, you should consult directly with your insurer to get clarity on whether your benefits cover telehealth and any associated costs.
Can I have a therapy session online through a video call?
Yes, many therapists on our platform offer telehealth services. Consult with your therapist to learn what their policies are for telehealth sessions.
Are there specialized therapists for children and adolescents?

How can I determine the effectiveness or ratings of a therapist?

How do I ensure confidentiality during video sessions?
All telehealth sessions held via Orchid are encrypted and adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Additionally, all of our therapists are verified as licensed clinicians, which means they are obligated as clinicians to maintain confidentiality regardless of how the session takes place.
Are there therapists available for emergency situations?
Although many therapists can address acute concerns, for emergencies we strongly recommend seeking immediate medical attention by dialing 911 or contacting a crisis helpline.
